:: Artisans’ Association of Cambodia ::
For many centuries, Cambodia has been home to
some of the worlds most beautiful handmade crafts. The advent of the Khmer
Rouge period destroyed the once prosperous traditions of weaving,
woodcarving, pottery and handicraft production.
But these art forms are making a comeback and organizations across Cambodia
are involved in training disadvantaged Cambodians to once again produce
these beautiful items – combining unique traditional methods with attractive
modern designs.
What we do
The Artisans’ Association of Cambodia (AAC) is a fair trade association that
provides support to over 30 such groups who work with Cambodia’s most
vulnerable people, such as landmine victims women who have come out of
trafficking.
AAC is committed to helping these Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and
social enterprises to develop their services and ensure that benefits
are passed down to the artisans themselves.
