Aim
At Chariya we aim to provide employment opportunities for
disadvantaged women with basic sewing skills to earn income through using
their skills as well as to gain economic independence and self esteem.
History & Philosophy
Chariya is a small scale business enterprise employing women with physical
disabilities or vulnerable backgrounds who were trained at the skill
training center on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Formed in mid 2003, Chariya
now has seven producers and three staff and is expecting to grow its
membership in 2006 after a new set of trainees complete their training and
join the production team.
