Aim
Skills Promotion Poverty Alleviation (SPPA) is a program of International
Cooperation Cambodia (ICC) with a vision to see reduced poverty in Cambodia
so that all people share resources for basic needs – physical, social,
emotional, spiritual - and take care of each other.
History & Philosophy
SPPA begun in 2002 and was motivated by the realization that, although
Cambodia is a country rich in natural resources, many people in both rural
and urban areas are very poor. Because they lack the knowledge of how to
process their agricultural produce, many farmers miss out on the potential
economic benefits of value-added products.
SPPA accomplishes its mission through partnership with other organizations,
who, in turn, facilitate a core group in each individual community. These
groups are given help in starting their own micro-enterprises, giving them a
reasonable and regular income and leading to a better standard of living.
SPPA uses micro-enterprises that have transparency, integrity, and Christian
values as their model.
